Getting Mom rolling near La Crosse, WI

Hello,

I'm hoping that someone can help me identify some bicycling resources for women in the La Crosse, Wisconsin area. My mother is 60 years old and in poor physical shape, with multiple medical difficulties. She has never been a fan of exercise, much to her detriment, but these days does what her doctor tells her to (walks on the treadmill 3x per week) after having developed atherosclerosis and having 3 stent procedures. She owns a very nice semi-recumbent bike (purchased just before her first heart-related incident several years ago) and went out on a family ride with us today -- her first ride in more than 25 years. She had initially predicted that she would not be able to ride more than 10 minutes, but actually rode for almost an hour -- at a VERY casual pace -- without becoming overwhelmingly fatigued, and reports that she enjoyed herself and could see herself doing more biking. I would love to see that happen, for the sake of both her physical and mental health. Knowing her as I do, I think it's much more likely to happen with regularity if she can hook up with a group of people in similar circumstances. I don't live in the area, and don't know how to identify any cycling clubs or other resources that might be of value to a woman in her position. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance for your help!
