Old Kentucky Home Tour
Mark your calendars and join in the fun this year. The Old Kentucky Home Tour (OKHT) will take place on Sept. 9 - 10. This is a wonderful tour and if you have never participated you have missed out on a grand time. You have three routes to select from on Saturday, a 50, 70 or 102 miles. All rides start in Louisville, Kentucky and make their way through some beautiful, rural countryside into Bardstown, Kentucky. Once in Bardstown you can enjoy a free massage, yoga classes, carriage rides and bourbon tasting. You can claim a piece of the Nelson County High School gym floor, camp on their baseball field or reserve a room in one of the many hotels in beautiful Bardstown for your sleeping arrangements. Sunday starts off with a wonderful breakfast and a challenging 55 mile ride back to Louisville. Along the way you will visit the infamous Cookie Stop - a SAG stop to die for! So, ladies, join in the fun and come ride some of the most beautiful roads in this area. Check out their website at: http://www.okht.org/

I will definitely be there. DH and I have been planning it since last year. He has been 2 or 3 times. I on the other hand have been recuperating from my children. This is the year!! We haven't decided if we are riding seperately or on the tandem (just got it in Feb.). Which route are you planning on doing?

I'm gong to ride the 70 mile route on Saturday. It is beautiful and I had a great time on it last year (rode the short roue the previous year and enjoyed it too). I've thought about the 102 mile route but Pottershot (sp) Hill is a bit intimidating, who knows I may change my mind but I doubt it. I will of course join the masses in the return trip on Sunday making to point to stay a little longer at the cookie stop ;)
Hope to see you on the road,
Marcie
