Did you do a virtual walk through your supermarket as well to compile this list?
Vegetables, in summertime mostly for grilling
Salad, spinach, mushrooms, bananas - all organic if there. Nothing imported further than europe except for the bananas (but those are fair trade)
pie dough (pre-rolled) for veg and fruit pies
olive oil
cocktail olives in various marinades (occasionally)
fruit bars for cycling
muesli
juice
steak (organic), lamb, chicken legs (organic free range if available. skin on. I do not believe in cholesterol), some fish (only environmentally sensible types)
spaghetti & various pesto sauces
occasionally, liver
eggs - we eat all of them, especially one for breakfast before cycling
cheese (rarely these days but if, it's got to be smelly, runny, wonderful)
parmesan for spaghetti
yoghurt for the muesli
occasional tub of cream for veg&fruit pies
occasional cookies (got into peppered oat cakes for cycling) or "bake fresh" breakfast rolls for sunday.
for biggie sundays, Zopf - a wonderful breakfast bread, white flour, eggs, butter... sinful....

Wine - we mostly buy by the case from wine dealers, our favorite supermarket chain does not carry alcohol.
We just predictably eat the same things. BF doesn't eat veg :-( I buy frozen fish filets and veg and eat that when he's not home. I like either fast, or frozen, leave it or set on timer, ready in an hour, or crock pot. But that list is stuff I alaways buy, and then supplement with whatever else looks good.

Bulk of shopping basket is fresh fruits and veggies. Wholegrain breads, pasta, rice, tofu, and fish (once in a while) fill the rest. Eggs are a staple. Lots of salads, olives and olive oil. We eat butter, ice cream (haagen dazs) cheese and dark chocolate for fun. For prepared food, canned soups, chili, thai noodle soups and veggie burgers are about it. I love Odwalla bars when I ride.
What we don't eat--hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, no meat other than fish, no chemicals. If you look at labels, that eliminates a lot of junk (sometimes foods you think are healthy-like commercial brands of peanut butter, cereal and bread). BF is a chef, by the way. I try to avoid the kitchen at all costs.
Gosh everyone eats so healthy - especially Brandy. I hate to grocery shop (actually I hate to shop - cuts into bike riding time). My absolute musts are usually:
milk (Lactaid non-fat calcium added)
bread (wheat berry)
Skippy's low fat peanut butter (must be low-fat extra crunchy)
yogurt (Yoplait Low Fat)
eggs (sorry eat all the egg - I like eggs)
crackers (usually Saltines)
Green tea bags
tofu and japanese soup noodles and pickles
Ovaltine
canned soup - I like Campbell's Tomatoe and Progresso Chicken and Rice)
cat food (my cat eats better than I)
fruit (usually apples or oranges)
veggies (sometimes frozen or canned as well) like beans, spinach and broccoli plus seasonal treats such as artichokes
* * *
Costco run:
Large bag frozen chicken breasts (lasts me awhile)
canned asparegus
cheese (my absolute downfall!)
cleaning products
soda (full amped Coca Cola - can't drink the non-sugar stuff)
usually a big bag of candies (which is why I need to lose 100 pounds!)
* * *
My cupboards and frig are not usually full. I'll shop when I am desperate and have to. Otherwise I eat alot. The sad life of a old, single gal!
My usual list is more like a list of generalized categories that are fleshed out when I'm actually walking down the aisles:
Salad Fixins - whatever looks good and is on sale
Fruit - apples & bananas are staples, other stuff fills in seasonally
soup fixins - not so much in the summer, but usually bean based
flesh - usually chicken, sometimes pork or fish, (beef comes special delivery from a cool grass-fed, range protecting, coyote & prarie dog preserving place)
pasta fixins - noodles & sauce fixins (tomatoes, garlic, onions....)
veggies - standard frozen & convenient peas, green beans & edemame and whatever looks good for the grill (squash, eggplant, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers)
Dairy - yoghurt and cottage cheese (milk delivered from the dairy)
Cheese - my cheese shop just closed, so I'm going to go through withdrawl and have to revert to more run-of-the-mill fare soon
Misc - almond butter, jalapeno stuffed olives, eggs, crackers, bread - either dense whole wheat or decadent crusty white stuff, Chocolate.
