OT: I just got carded!

DD and I just had to run an errand and then we stopped off at Whole Foods to get something for dinner. They had Marin Brewing Co. Starbrew in stock, so I bought one and on the way out, the checker (a very nice, beautifully tattooed woman) asked to see some ID.

My immediate reactions was a feeling of guilt - what did I do wrong? What does she know about me? And then I realized why she was asking.

I turn 40 in December and had a 10 year old kid with me, so it was probably pretty clear I didn't need to be carded. But then she said something like "Treat people the way you'd like to be treated" and I thought it was pretty nice.

How cool is that?!!! :D

These days, I love being carded. I know that someday soon I'll want to be, and won't be, and that makes me sad.

Maybe it's part of the Whole Foods training, the esthetician at the WF here guessed I was 22 the other day :eek: ! While she was giving me a mini-facial!
I've always looked younger than my age, but 13 years ;) ? I'd rather be 26, tho :rolleyes: :p .

Thanks for stopping in to say hello at the WCC. I'm posting on this thread as I must say, after meeting you it is NOT suprising at all that you got carded!

It was great meeting you as well! You all put on a TERRIFIC ride last weekend and you can see from reading our posts everyone who did the ride had a great time.

hmmm my new house has a whole foods right around the corner. I guess I should check it out!
