Hi all,
A group of us mountain bikers went away to Hanmer (approx 1.5hrs north of Christchurch, (South Island), New Zealand) for a long weekend of biking, socialising and sitting in hotpools. It was an awesome weekend with great mountainbike trails all over the area. Just thought I would share a photo of this wonderful location.

I've never ridden up that way. Must give it a try sometime once I get back home.
How hard/technical are the trails around Hamner - I've always liked the idea of going but my skill level doesn't extend much further than pottering around bottle lake
There's some trails in the forest that look pretty easy. I'd say on a par with BL, but with a few more ups and downs. Probably I ought to defer to someone who's actually ridden them though... :rolleyes:
Oh yeah, homesick even tho' it's not home...been all round the North Island coast but the only Mainland riding I did was around Marlborough-Nelson Lakes-Nelson and back to Picton and the Cook Strait Fairy.
Wonder where that BF is now. :o I am sure better off where I am -and with whom ;)
