first post

Just thought I would say Hi and introduce myself since I found this forum a few weeks ago and this is my first post. I've been riding on and off for about twelve years. Started on a road bike then switched to a mountain bike with road tires on it which I've been riding the last two years. Picked up my new Giant TCR3 yesterday. Having speedplay zero pedals installed (on order) after reading all your posts about how much everyone likes them. Have always used cages so I'm a little worried. My riding partner has been using Quattro's for about a month and having minor issues with getting in and out of them. I haven't decided on a saddle yet. The one my bike came with is too hard for me. I have a trek gel saddle on my mountain bike I may switch over. Any recommendations?

I have Speedplay Zero's too. I'd advice you to put your bike up on a trainer and clip in and out about 30 times on each foot. When you first install them, the springs are really, really tight. So, before you hit the road, make sure you're getting in and out smoothly.

Thanks for the advice. I have a trainer so I'll definitely do that. Anxious to just hop on and try it out but don't want to damage it or me if I can help it.

Hi Kelly... I also ride Zeros and the advice given is good... practice somewhere safe...

I'd like to add to that to get coffee covers... worth the $10 investment to not ruin them when walking... also will help keep them from clogging up with dirt etc if you DO need to walk in them... whether it's into a coffee shop or at a SAG station thru dirt! Once a month or so I spray a little White Lightening on mine too... I like to keep 'em lubed as they are really easy to get into and out of then!
