When is it, Jodi? I am leading a ride on the 17th, so it is probably that day! My husband and i are definitely making a century a goal this year.
Robyn
I am definitely interested in doing this century...My first...unless I manage to do one earlier in the season :)
How do you register?
Any thoughts on the Seacoast Century later in September?
Linda
Flattest Century in the East is on September 10th, and the registration form can be found at http://www.nbwclub.org/events/2006-TFCE.pdf.
I haven't done this ride, but I understand that it is a good one.
I have done Granite State Wheelmen's Seacoast Century in the past (info at http://www.granitestatewheelmen.org/...C-HomePage.htm) - and I like the way they run this ride. Instead of a mass start for each distance, you can start at any time between 7 and 1, as long as you are finished by 5. That's an interesting approach to a start - and it does a good thing by spreading the riders out. This is a beautiful ride too, following the coast of New Hampshire and Maine. Another interesting thing about this one is that it's scheduled for 2 days - September 23rd & 24th. You can ride one day or both days, same route.
I stopped doing organizied rides a long time ago, but I would still consider this one because of the (very staggered) start. (To be honest though, I'm more likely to follow this route at other times when there aren't so many people wandering on bikes. I ride in this area fairly often...)

The Seacoast century sounds great too.
Hubby and I are doing a 3 day around the quabbin next week and staying at B&Bs. Wish me luck, I hear it is very hilly.
It sounds like one I would like to do. It's kinda a long drive for me...I want a really flat first century for my first!
We will be signing up for this one. Let us know how your 3 day trip goes, Jodi.
Are we ready for our spring ride, ladies?
Robyn
I may register...
I have yet to get on my bike but I am still very hopeful!!

Anyway, I like the sound of TFCE on Sept 10th. Good long term goal. I'll try to rope in BF. My more immediate goal is the Major Taylor hill race in Worcester in July. I'm officially registered. Eek. Anyone want to join me!?
I'd be up for a ride sometime too. I need group experience this year!
Hope everyone's well. Have fun ridin' 'round Quabbin Jody!

OOOOHHHHHH yes!!!
It's time!!! Do you have anything free next week with the cherubs on vacation?
karen
Wed. (AM) or Thursday is good for me. But I don't think anyone else can join us during the week. Have you been on your bike yet, Karen?
Nice to see you mbb!!! How are things going?
I'll join you. I'll be the one on the hill yelling go Stacy go! :D :D :D You crazy woman. I'll bring Karen along too. Maybe we can have a whole TE contingent on the hill cheering you up. Wear your TE shirt.Quote:

In the meantime I have been enjoying watching cycling on TV. I watched all of the ACL 5 episodes and than watched in horror as my boy George go down, (never ever seen a steering tube break)!
Ain't this weather great!!! Robyn I hope you have a great vacation week. My daughter has this week off than she goes back for one week and she is done!
She is soooo excited. My son on the other hand is needing a good kick in the butt to get thru spring. He hasn't been the same since opening day at Fenway...die hard Red Sox people that we are!!
Happy Easter/Passover to all...:D
