Props for Fuji Girl
So yesterday Fuji Girl rode further than she's ever ridden before for a single day's ride - 46 miles. Not only was it more than she's ever done, but 21 miles more! She basically doubled her previous maximum distance.
We did a local organized ride and the weather was great. A bit cool but overall great for day for a ride.
Congrats to Fuji Girl!

Thanks Beta! I would never have done it without your support and patience. Especially those hills! And the wind! But I had a blast, even if those last 5 miles were the worst. I hope I didn't slow you down too much.
I was so tired when I got back - I just showered and slept for 4 hours. But I'm definitely excited to finish that sort of distance - even if I'm really really sore today!
Thanks for getting me through those miles - I really appreciate it. Kudos to you too! :D

Wow! Do another 21 miles further and you're past the Metric Century mark! Well done!! You won't believe how easy the same distance will be for you next time!

Wow! Congrats, Fuji and Beta! What was the route? It was beautiful yesterday. :D

We did the Folks on Spokes easter ride, down south by governor's state university. It was a mix of farms, residential, and some industrial. Got some good views of a large warehouse. That was pretty.
My butt isn't too sore today so I might go for another ride, but shorter, today. You never know when this 70 degree weather is going to take a dive around here!

I know. I'm sitting here at the hospital, waiting for a patient to come in for me to check her. Gritting my teeth at how beautiful it is out, and how much I'd like to be on the bike. Tomorrow AM for sure. Have a nice ride!
PS: Got your PM, let's see how things look in May. Maybe we can go south on the lakefront someday! Fuji, too. :)

Holy cow, I need to work on my butt callus. I went for a 25 miler today and the first 10 minutes were spent half standing :D Love this time of the year! But wow, what great weather. Lise I hope you got out today. I plan on riding again tomorrow if I can.

Looks like great weather all week long! My riding partner, who works part time, called me at work yesterday to taunt me as she left on a long riding!
I was laughing yesterday riding home from work as I watched all the neighborhood kids out in shorts and flip-flops - there's plenty of places in the US where 70 degrees would still be a bit chilly to strip down. When I first moved here, I couldn't believe the guys who would be out in their shorts as soon as it went above 50 degrees. You gotta love those hardy Chicagoans!

Way to go Fujigirl! Doubling your mileage is quite a feat!

Thanks for all your supportive words. It was fun (now that it's over, of course)! I'm thinking I need to train a little more before I can do that kind of distance again. But it's a great feeling to know I did it!

congrats FujiGirl
Just wondering what Fuji you have. I got a new Fuji cyclocross bike, its awesome and was WAY cheap!

My Fuji is a 2004 Fuji Newest WSD. It was way cheap too, only $500. Of course, I've sunk more than that in upgrades: 105 shifters, brakes, FD, RD, Specialized Avatar saddle, Cateye Astrale 8 computer, Shimano M540 pedals, Mavic Open Pro wheels with Ultegra hubs, the list goes on and on! Next move: swapping for an Ultegra BB and 105 crank.

That's really pretty! I bet you still come out pretty good total price-wise when you figure in the quality of the frame. May cyclocross bike came with Dura Ace RD and everything else 105. It was only $900!

Fuji, congrats on the new Personal Best! :)
