icing arm & trying to increase left hand dexterity
Well, i was gonna go for another ride yesterday. Got 3 blocks down the street. Instead of turning left onto one street and immediately turning left onto another (less than half block) I cross the small gas station parking lot and wait 4 traffic.
My left foot is unclipped and on solid ground. Straight ahead of me is a curb, cant ride over it. To the right is ped crosswalk ramp thing and to the left is a driveway enterance. I scoot myself left and forward so i can see if anything is driving up the hill. But something happened to make me tip right. I should've unclipped that foot too, but wanted to be able to take off right o way. Going down I think I tried not to put my arm out, but did and I knew it'd suck.
I heard a pop, thought i'd jammed my elbow. It hurt. My head didnt make contact but I couldnt pop back up beyond just sitting up. I felt nauseous. Two girls saw it and helped me get my bike home and took me in to the hospital clinic. I had to wait awhile. Then in the examinig room I cried, the pain was bearable and the nausea went away, but I was finally thinking about it and felt stupid.
Xrays sucked. It was discouraging to not have rapid mobility. The CPN wasnt positive that i broke my arm, but there were indicators. So she casted me anyway and will have a radiologist read the images. I'm right handed.
I havent checked on my bike yet. I broke its fall.
WEird thing is, a couple weeks ago I thought that I had a spur on the side of my foot, so i thought that would ground me for a bit. Then i go and goober up my arm 1 week after getting a new bike. I want to ride! must reconsider attack.
