A little about this newbie

I've enjoyed cycling on and off over my lifetime but got serious about it in the past 18 months. Last month, I bought a TREK 7.3 FX and am loving it! My longest ride thus far is 17 miles.

I am currently taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge, which is a fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. My goal is to ride 250 miles during June, and have 70 miles done in the first week. :)

I'm reading a lot, learning even more, and gaining more experience each day. I quickly learnt that drivers aren't so nice to cyclists, so I've been searching out longer bike path routes to minimize traffic concerns.

Thanks for the welcome! A dental infection has me in a lot of pain, combined with a lot of rain, so I'm missing my ride today. Never thought I'd be a person complaining about missing a day of exercise. LOL Hopefully the antibiotics kick in quickly.
