Women's Cycling apparel - Survey, please help!

Hello ladies!

I am a graduate student at Colorado State University and am working on designing a line of top-of-the-line women's cycling apparel. In order to understand how to make the best products, I need your help! I am looking for competitive and professional-level women cyclists; I want to know what you do or don't like about your current kit, what you need that it doesn't provide, what you LOVE that is does provide, and several other demographic/psychographic-related questions.

If you could please take 10 minutes to fill out the survey, I would greatly appreciate it! I will not be publishing my results and there are no known risks associated with participating. Perhaps they are looking at a specific market.
Also excludes people over 60 years of age.

Maybe they think that only pros wear "kits?" Or, no one over 60 would be cycling in a serious recreational or racing sense?
This is what happens when young grad students design a survey!

I think events/competitions should be broken down. Lots of events for me, zero competition.

In her post she specifies competitive or professional. Based on that I see no point in clicking the link to the survey.

Huh. That should be bolded. That's a pretty small niche to try and service, if you ask me. Most pros and competitors wear their team kit, end of story.

@cycledesigner: as a graduate student, you should know to do some research *before* putting together a survey. So poorly done and showing absolute lack of knowledge of the target market. Thoughtless on other dimensions: e.g., frequency of cycling: jump from daily to 1-5 times per months (about once per week)? And, I will guess, after planting the link in various forums, you probably do not bother to read any comments on the survey...

I occasionally compete, but no one will ever call me competitive ;)

And yes, I wear my team's kit with the terrible shorts that are good for 15 miles max.

The last option was "more than 20 times". I guess that means "per month" and would fill the gap between "daily" and "1-5 times per month". It was down at the bottom and I almost missed it.

I'm not competitive or professional, so I guess I'm out ;)

I am looking for competitive and professional-level women cyclists.


Guess its a non profit. ;)

My issues:
- The age listings only go up to age 60. I suppose there aren't many competitive cyclists over 60, but I do know at least one triathlete that is, and she's fast.
- "Education" jumps straight from high school to bachelor's degree. Some of us hold certificates and diplomas from poly-technical colleges, and some women are in the trades. Where is the choice for something like journeyman electrician?
- Why limit it to competitive or professional level, especially if there are questions about preferring indoor or outdoor training (really, a bike racer would train mostly indoors?) and riding for fun with family?
