I've been wanting to do a VO2 Max test for some time, mainly to find out what MY optimum heart rate training zones are. Using the traditional generic formula gives me some insane low ranges, and that is just wrong. Especially with taking up trail running, I think this is important, especially the "red" zone. I've scheduled this for 7:30 Monday morning, and I chose the spin bike method rather than the treadmill. I hate treadmills, and beyond a certain speed I find them intimidating. That could cause a problem with a test like this.
Has anyone else had this test? Was it useful for you?
