Anyone try New Terry Saddle Falcon X?

Has anyone tried the Falcon X saddle from Terry?

I'm a bit of a Terry fan. I've tried their liberator Gel, didn't like the gel, so I've been using the Butterfly now and I'm fairly happy with it, but it isn't "quite there" for long rides. My soft bits just get sore after awhile, and the drops just make it worse. I just tried the Fizik Airone, and it was hugely painful down the center (too narrow I think?). A real dissapointment because I found a white and silver one that looked stunning with my bike's silver and white paint job. :( I soo wanted this to be the one after the good reviews I read.

I was looking at the Selle SMP Strike, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to go that different yet...that and omg it must be huge at almost 400g! :) THe man above has given me wide thighs from birth and I always seem to rub badly on bulky saddles.

THe Falcon X seemed to take some of the idea from the Strike (bigger channel and perch, slighly down nose) and I was wondering if anyone has given this a try.

I was thinking of going with this or the Zero. Any suggestions welcome! I really hope I can find something that doesn't leave me too raw after 40+ miles. The quest continues! :cool:

Haven't tried it either, but it's nice to see Terry is making a saddle with a bigger cutout. Should help a lot.:)

I put it on the trainer tonight. Roughly the same width and overall look off the butterfly, little bit slimmer overall and the cutout is a bit further back and wider.

On the trainer the soft areas don't feel much pressure at all! My sit bones feel more though. Could be that there seems to be a bit less padding in the back. I'll see tomorrow if my bones accept it on the road or not. I might have to dial it in a bit, but it seems promising!

The neat/weird/scary thing is the rails!! They are a combo carbon/steel alloy thing and they look like they will break easily. The whole saddle flexes under the weight (the rails bend under hand pressure). I'm hoping that this will give a smoother ride and won't leave me biking home standing up!!

Sounds promising! Definitely keep us posted - I am always looking for a new saddle to try. Even though the one I have now is comfortable (Specialized Avatar 155), I keep thinking there's one out there that might be even more comfortable!

I laughed when I read this. My current saddle is pretty comfy too but Im always thinking the same as you, there could be one out there even better - much to the horror of my husband.:D

Yes, saddles could become a complusion, but I'm very happy with my most recent purchase... I think I'm good for a while now. :)

Another compulsive saddle purchaser here! I even bought one of those that is sorta round--no pointy front--at Bike Expo. It was only $30, and I thought I'd give it a try. I've spent $30 on lots stupider stuff than that! If it's great, I'll let y'all know. I'm hoping to finally get on the road tomorrow for a bit.

That odd saddle that I got at Bike Expo is called THE SEAT. I put it on my bicycle and cannot get it to go back far enough to be correct for my knees. So I'll be offering it around to people here in town. I don't know if it's comfortable or not! I'm still trying to decide between the Jett and Liberator Ti Race that I have. I'm not sure either is the answer. I really like the looks of that red Selle that TE has the Lady Gel Flow. Any thoughts on that one? I've also been looking at the new Terry Zero. So much confusion. I just wish my hynie could speak up and say which one is best for it!!!

I now have the Falcon X - it is a little less padded than the one I was using but the cut out is wider which is great, I have only used it on the trainer so far, but this weekend s/b in the 70's so road watch out, I will get a better feel for it then.

Every saddle I have tried on the trainer after about 40 min or so I get numb, I suppose b/c you don't really have to stand up on the trainer is the reason.

I'm anxiously awaiting a road review of this saddle. I can't seem to find it locally so I don't want to waste a mail order run.

I currently have a Selle San Marco Atena but I'm interested in trying one of these split saddles.

I'm curious about this one too. My issue is that the butterfly was too wide thru the nose, and the fly was much better, but the cut out on the men's wasn't lined up right with my bits.

I finally go to ride outside on my Falcon, love it!!!! The cut out is just right not as much cushion as my Velo but I didn't find it uncomfortable. ONly thing I did seem to have happen is that the nose kept grabbing my shorts when I got on the saddle which is weird b/c it is just a little shorter than my Velo which I don't remember it doing that. :confused:

I rode 33.5 miles Sat. and had minimal discomfort, mainly my butt just isn't used to that long of a ride yet:p

I think tho I may have to change to my velo for centuries! to keep the cheeks happy:D

Great news! Give it a few rides. After one ride with my Selle SMP I was sure my hiney was going to be very unhappy even though the girly bits were great. But after a couple more rides, everything was good. I still have some tushie soreness, but only on long rides, which I'm not doing every week, so I know I just need to keep toughening up that part.
