Real padded unwear (not the shorts)

Good day ladies,

I tried a search before but could not nail anything like this in the results.

I already have 2 pairs of road bike shorts that I like - one more than the other - but I was looking into getting an extra pair (for fun...hey! A girl has to have more than required right!) and saw this on ebay

It is a real pair of padded underwear. Never seen that before. It would be fun to wear (I think) because that means I could wear regular shorts also. Don't know the quality of it but thought the idea was good.

Anyone tried those before? Is it worth the try or just a waste of my money. I don't ride more than 50kms rides and I'm not a fast cyclist either. We stop often so I never feel that butt soreness either. Maybe different if I was riding 100kms in one shot but it is not my situation for time-being. And riding season is almost over for us and I'm sure we'll get an inside rider (which I could use my regular shorts to train).

What do you think?

Everyone should choose their own underwear, right?

I'm not sure this is a niche that I need to fill. For longer rides, I wear bike shorts and for shorter rides, I just wear clothes.

To me, they don't look like a good idea - the heavy elastic trim around the leg holes looks like it would be a pretty ready source of chafing and irritation. The original idea of cycling shorts wasn't to "pad" your backside, but rather to create a seamless area.. If you wanted something to wear under regular clothes, you'd probably be better off with something like compression shorts.

Except that compression shorts that aren't made for cycling may still have seams where you really don't want to be sitting on them (plus, anything compressive, even pantyhose, is pretty uncomfortable to me when I don't need the muscle support). Tri shorts usually have a pretty unobtrusive chamois and a shorter length - that might be an option to wear under something else.
