Urban Adventours--fun thing to do in Boston
I was in Boston for a few days this past week for a conference and decided that while there I would try to do a few fun things as well. One was a bike tour of the city with a company called Urban Adventours that has its shop near the Aquarium. There are a few different 2 to 3-hour tours they offer...the one I ended up doing was in Cambridge (wanted to do the "City View Tour" but was not offered at the time I could go). Bikes (Giant Escape or Kona Dew) and helmets are provided and the number of tour guides depends on group size...we had around 8 in our group and had two guides. It's a fun way to see the area and worth checking out if any of you are ever in Boston. The only thing that bothered me on the tour was that they took us onto the sidewalk at a few points; in fairness, we did have to work around a lot of unexpected blockages like a parade and a big festival so I am not sure that the sidewalk riding is usual. The pace is very slow, so you could bring non-cycling family members and they would do fine.
