Tiagra STI levers, the lever for the rear is still present and working as a brake lever. However, because I have small hands I installed a thumb shifter. If you'd rather have the STI it's no big thing to hook that back up.

Zen, glad to know you're still around. Nice to see you here! I hope the bike and shoes for sale doesn't mean you won't be biking any longer?
-
still riding but no more special shoes. Back to riding like a kid.
Now, buy my bike.
-
How tall are you and how wide are those bars?
-
Awesome looking bike and my size. I absolutely don't need another bike as I've already bought two this year and have a Bike Friday back in NC that is steel and fine for touring. Otherwise I'd be sorely tempted!
-
Ohhhhh, why did I open this thread? I've been looking for a steel touring bike. The Jamis was recommended, but the newer ones seem to have a higher standover height. So I went with a Bike Friday, which arrived yesterday! Now this. I either need some enabling or serious intervention.
Do you know the standover height, measured to the middle of the top tube, around the "ROR" in Aurora? Thanks!
-
I will have to do a standover to see how much clearance there is at the ROR :) but my inseam is 29" and I'm 5'2
-
Zen! Good to see you.
I'm tempted too. I'm only just getting back on the bike ... how wide *are* those bars? ;)
-
I think the bike is just a smidge too big for me... my inseam is 28.5 and I'm 5' 1," so I won't let myself be tempted anymore.
-
Oh come on. You have one growth spurt left in you
It's really a great bike.
Richey biomax bars, nice short reach
they're about as wide as my shoulders ;)
-
Great looking bike, and would fit me (30" inseam and 5' 2.5"), but not in the market right now. Otherwise I'd seriously consider it. There's gotta be someone on here who will buy it...
-
Great bike
Just want to chime in with a personal endorsement for the Aurora - for anyone who might be on the fence.
I own a 2010 Aurora - bought sight unseen - that I fell in love with on Day One. The steel frame makes for a smooth, comfortable ride and it practically rolls along on its own. (I call it my Cadillac bike.)
I map out a route for my rides each week and stop at yard sales along the way. Multi-tasking at its best. :)
-
ample clearance for my 29" inseam at the ROR:p
The bars are 15" wide
-
Good to see you Zen, you have been missed!
-
How would you define "ample clearance"? My inseam is only 26" :( Being short has probably prevented me from unnecessary purchases, but it's also made it very difficult to get the perfect purchase.
