what a difference a day mkes
Talk about the difference a day and a bit of wind make. Tuesday I rode 63 miles at a stupendous (for me) 14.9 mph. Yesterday I struggled through 39 miles at a slower rate of 13.3 mph. Sigh- yes I know part of it was riding two days back to back but I still hate, fear dread and am resigned to having to trudge in the wind, which conveniently starts blowing just as I mount bike bike although it can have been still as death for days and hours before. double sigh.
Still I am pretty chuffed that I did manage to do 100 miles and change in seven and a half hours of riding time. There's hope that I might even be ready for a century in the Little Red Riding Hood ride in Utah with my three biking sisters in June.

You are awesome! I never thought Houston was windy until I started road riding. Now I've decided it starts every time I get on the bike.

That ride sounds like so much fun Marni! You were hurt a few weeks ago, are you recovered from that accident?
Good luck on your training!
