Way to go. So great to pass new milestones, isn't it?
It is. I was only planning on 40, but that would have left me 2 miles short of my car. When I hit 40, though, I did let go of a "Yahoo!"
Now, today, I am sore, sore, sore. Legs, hips, and surprisingly my arms. Didn't feel like this at 37, so I guess as I hit these higher distances I need to be ready to get into recovery mode.

You'll be way more than ready by May. You could do it now, but will do it pretty easily with a few more months of riding. It's so awesome to pass milestones. All the big and even small goals are a great motivation to get on the bike. Sometimes just trying to ride a small segment faster than I ever have before gets me all excited to go ride when I'm not feeling so much like going.
I find I'm very competitive even with myself. I try not to be, try to just pedal and get it done, but I find myself pushing my average speed, longest distance, etc. I suppose at some point that will have to stop because there are only so many miles of road on this earth. This weekend I may "only" get to squeeze in 20 miles and I so disappointed LOL.
