Cycling in NY after Sandy

Amid the horrible disaster that the storm created, it is good to see people are cycling to work:

It makes sense. Traffic is so horrible, public transportation is limited and gas os scarce so cycling is the perfect alternative. My coworker biked to work from the upper east side and said he had a perfect commute.
