Racing at 50
Hi Gang!
I have been trying to find information on road racing in my area, and would appreciate any
help. Is there a general site for road races coming up in the spring? How about Master's racing?
I will be 50 in Feb, and am debating signing up for a road race or two, but don't want to get my rear
end kicked. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I live in the SW Washington/Portland area, and
have searched on the Oregon Racing site already. Thanks in advance.

Age doesn't necessarily equate getting one's rear end kicked (much of my team's 1,2,3 squad, including myself, qualify as masters and one of our stronger racers is over 50) and master's doesn't necessarily = easier.... (our master's fields here tend to be a bit stacked). In any case, at least here in WA, it's rare to see women's master fields in anything but state championship races.
If you don't mind coming a bit north (not always some of our races are closer to your neck of the woods) check out the WSBA web site too. www.wsbaracing.com

Check into some of the clubs listed at OBRA or via some of the LBSs. I believe around here (PDX) things are/have transitioned into CX season. You might see some time trial stuff a bit later.
