No More SI joint issues!

This month I completed almost 500 miles of hilly cycling in 2 weeks in Wisconsin. Returning home my SI joint and being lazy this last 2 weeks my SI joint has been complaining. I decided I needed a "tuneup" so I had a visit with a new PT. My old PT that I worked with in Jan. had gone on to another job. At the time I thought her corrections were so simple but now I understand how effective they were.

After the PT evaluated me he told me how impressed he was with my improvements. He read the original PT's reports and thought he might have a lot of work to do. He said my SI joint is stable, my strength in my hips has returned, the asymmetry on the right hip is gone. Based on where I was in Jan. I have good mobility in my hips. On the negative side my lower back is still stiffer than he likes (bending forward and backwards), my right hip has some stiffness and the smaller stabilizer muscles in the hip are still weak. Also, my thoratic spine is stiffer than he thought is would be.

The crankiness in the SI joint could be due to arthritis, which I know is there, or the weakness in the stabilizer muscles.

I came home feeling so good, after 4 years of suffering with SI joint issues I feel I finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel. One thing that I've learned is that I have to stay on top of this SI joint problem, which is why I got checked out again.

I even mentioned maybe going back to weight lifting and he said "why would you want to do that? You're stronger than many of the "men" I work with who are 20 years younger" I'm in my 60's.:)

The PT is a cyclist and a skier so he totally understood my needs.
