I am thinking of getting one of those road ID's. You wear them around your wrist or ankle.
Any comments?

Yes. Love it. Don't leave home without it.
Get the wrist one....it's much more likely to be found in an emergency than something on your ankle.
If you do a search, you will find a lot of discussion about Road IDs. I never leave home without it. Mine is for the wrist and the general concensus is that wrist id's are most likely to be seen by EMTs. That said, DP has one for her shoe.
I have two. One stays with the bike gear so I always have it for rides.
The other stays with my gym bag. I wear it to the gym (I walk there and don't bring my wallet with me) and when I go for walks around the neighborhood.
They're awesome. Hope you never need it, but be prepared just in case.
I have the road ID slim. Used to wear it just on rides, now I wear it all the time on my wrist. I've got some medical allergies so I used it kind of like a med-alert bracelet. I only take it off if I'm getting all fancied up (very rare, haha!).
thanks for your comments, will order a couple asap!
thinking of getting them for my sons too.
I have a "dog tag" Road ID that I wear during any outdoor activity. Love it! In retrospect, I wish I'd ordered a wristband instead though.
I have two interactive IDs so that I can have lots of information available. The shoe version stays on my running or riding pack so I never leave home without it. I have the wrist version for when I'm not carrying a pack.
If you order a wrist version, consider the silicone band because the velcro version has snagged more than one expensive top.
I don't have one yet but in the meantime I ride with my health insurance card and text my dbf every ten miles or so where I am just in case.
Yes, I've the interactive inexpensive slimline version. I don't ride (or hike) without it.
I have one "tag" and switch it between wrist and ankle ID. That said, it's 95% on my ankle. I know wrist is preferable, but it drives me nuts when exercising. So....better to have one on my ankle than not at all. But - so long as you're getting the same form factor (i.e., not the slim), you can switch it and see which form you like the best for minimal extra cost.
Never leave for a ride without the road ID around my ankle. I really can't tolerate wearing it on my wrist.
I have one for my wrist. Originally I purchased it for bike rides but now I wear it on hikes, runs, etc... I purchased the original (velcro) and think my next one will be a slimmer version.
I had a terrible crash. The ID tag told them who to call, my insurance number, and what hospital to bring me to. Don't go riding without one.
