yoga cd suggestions

Are there any suggestions on CD's for yoga? Either helpful newer ones or old favorites?

I will be moving and will not have a Y available. I have not done yoga before. I find I am getting stiff and do not take the time to stretch. I do tai chi but also have trouble finding the time. The reason I stayed away from yoga is it seemed too slow and not to benefit me, only add to pain by stretching too far or wrong. By not benefit me I mean I have too much energy and yoga did not seem to expell it. Now I find I need stretching so it may be helpful.

My opinion is that if you haven't done yoga before, don't start at home alone - all the more so if you've had issues in the past with injuries. I think one needs a really good teacher to show you where the focuses need to be in each pose. See if you can find a good studio (I would recommend Iyengar or Anusara, both of which really emphasize proper alignment) and do a few classes so you get some familiarity with how to cue yourself when you're practicing at home.

I have taken a few classes. Most spend a great deal of time breathing. Plain out this is not relaxing for me as they instruct. In thru nose and out thru mouth. I broke my nose and crushed sinuses and perhaps that is why I feel like I am suffocating when I breath like that. I usually listen to instruction, then feel what is good with my body. In the boonies in eastern NC I am not so sure I can find a qualified instructor. Would you drive 100 miles to a class and how do you find a good instructor? Currently I do drive over an hour for taichi. They have no suggestions on yoga instructors.

Have you tried hot/ "power" yoga? That might be more your speed, if you're finding traditional (?) yoga to be too slow. I don't like the nasal breathing either, and I never thought about it before, but its probably because I also have a blocked sinus (deviated septum). Wow, a lightbulb just went off!

I'll admit that I find some of the DVDs out there to be a bit slow, though sometimes I like the Rodney Yee morning routine (can't think of the name right now).
