I missed most of the first season, but am enjoying this second season.
It's worth renting the first season on DVD. I wanted to throttle O'Brian and Thomas...
Also Maggie Smith had the best lines ever, and she delivered them as only Maggie Smith can.
Love it! I missed the first season, so it's taken me a while to try and figure out some of the relationships, but I think I've got it now. Love the grandmother!
I'm hooked too
I'm there with ya! Except for this last episode. I thought the actor who played P. Gordon was horrible - as was the story line.
I know it's just a period high class soap opera but this episode was over the top.
I love this show - it is a well done period piece and I am really enjoying it. I love that I can stream current episodes from the website if I can't stay up that late on Sunday evenings to enjoy it.
I think I saw the original series on Netflix? That memory could be incorrect, I may still have had Uverse at that time and had recorded it on my DVR. Anyway, high-class historical soap or not it is quite well done.
I've also done some reading over the years about the social changes in England during this time period - WWI couldn't help but to cause major changes in British society/class lines. They appear to have done their research well for this series.
Love it! And I can't believe I love a soap opera so much!
Hooked.
And yes, the original is on Netflix. I'm watching Season 1 and the current season at the same time
Love it! I'm a fan of most period dramas anyways.
I must confess, I teared up when they thought Matthew and William were missing and then the two of them walked in while Mary was singing at the concert.
Also, I did not think Mr. Pamuk (sp?) was all that good looking.
And why does poor Lavinia always wear such ill-fitting dresses? Can't she afford a seamstress?
It does seem that Lavinia's dresses are all 2 sizes too large.
Me too.
I found the "who would you be game.."

You are the Dowager Countess of Grantham, Violet Crawley (Maggie Smith). You do not suffer fools gladly. In fact you do not suffer anything at all because you refuse to entertain any form of discomfort in your life whatsoever.
Addicted, completely.
