it's cute but not very accurate. the odds of me ever wanting a Mastiff are in the millions to one...
you look like a mastiff?? :D
I supposedly look like a pit bull--note: I have long, very curly brown hair!
I tried 3 different pics of myself, it never accepted a single one of them to even go on! I even got out my iphone and took a closeup photo of just my head - no go :(
You are aware that all these apps that match your face to dogs/celebrities/who knows what are just collecting facial recognition points that they then sell, right?
I got a mastiff mix puppy who is so wonderful looking I would go get him right now if he weren't in New Zealand.!
It's run by Mars (of Mars Bar fame), so presumably they make pet food as well...
Well, I can't find the most recent couple of stories that DH and I were just talking about last week, but here are a few:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/2297...is_creepy.html
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...rivacy-germany
http://gizmodo.com/5831119/police-us...ts-in-uk-riots
http://articles.latimes.com/2011/aug...ition-20110821
And EPIC's somewhat dated but more general page: https://epic.org/privacy/facerecognition/
Basically, there's one general principle that I've referenced before: if you're receiving something from a for-profit business and you're not paying for it, you are the product being sold. It's all well and good that these things are amusing, but that they're amusing isn't why the companies give them to you for free.
well, I read the Guardian, Gizmodo, and Epic articles and don't see what you are talking about. None of these indicate that this site, or any others, are using these uploaded faces for anything. Facebook tried to apparently - but for what I'm not quite sure, to pull more people in I guess.
They indicate people are afraid someone might.
i think it's pretty innocent, geared at trying to get homes for dogs.
I got a mutt: "medium mixed breed." Am rather partial to mutts, just didn't think I looked like one! :o
Max was kind of cute.
