New bike question - more of the same?

Further to my other thread. I'm considering replacing my comfort Marin Stinson with a Marin Kentfield hybrid, I'm going to look at the bike tomorrow. I do really like Pashleys, but in reality I need more gears, and I like the idea of having a slightly lighter prettier bike for errands and I wouldn't mind it being a bit faster too. Part of me is wondering if I'd be changing like for like, if perhaps the difference between comfort and hybrid is smaller than I imagine.

Any thoughts/help appreciated, thank you. Of course, the colourway that I love is from this year's range, so shortly about to become harder to find (yes, I did exactly the same when choosing a mountain bike last year...)
