Whew.
I'm safe and sound in my new residence. :) I'm almost done unpacking--the only things remaining are living room/office small stuff (and my enormous tea collection). I'm trying to figure out how to arrange the furniture because of the funny outlet placement and the fact that I don't want to trip over cords.
Classes start Tuesday, and I've already become friendly with some of my fellow students. Now I just need to find one more lab for my last rotation and I'm set. I won't have internet access for at least four or five days--I'm using Starbucks' wi-fi right now.
Planning to go for a bike ride tomorrow or Monday. There's a trail behind the university that's hopefully open again (they were inspecting the gas lines in August), or there's another trail that I've taken this opportunity to get directions to. :)

Congratulations! Did you end up with a roommate? I remember you were having a hard time finding a place, and I missed what you ended up with. I hope it's satisfactory!

hey, I just moved too! I'm taking an internet-break from unpacking.
This weekend I'm focusing on cleaning, and lots of biking around town to pick up everything I need, I don't have *any* kitchen gear. I know the area since I didn't move that far, but I hope you have fun exploring all the new bike routes!

Enjoy settling-in for a couple of days. Hope your classes get off to a good start, too. I always loved the first week of class. :D

Welcome to the area, Owlie! Glad you are settled. Enjoy the bike paths. :)

So I didn't ride, because of the weather...:( Sunday it is, then. Still no Internet. I only have class 2 days a week (because I'm going to be spending MWF in a lab), but Tuesday was draining and I'm still tired. Parking is a nightmare right now. It should get better further into the quarter when all the undergrads decide they don't need to go to class every day. ;) Right now I'm getting here at 8 so I can actually park and my last class ends around 7. I sense that I'm going to be developing a dependence on caffeine...
Red, I got a 1br apartment off-campus--and it's cheaper than living in an efficiency on campus. It's pretty nice, but hopefully some of the neighbors quiet down a bit as the quarter gets into full swing.

Sorry I missed this post. Glad you settled into your new place. Hope the neighbors settle in as well. I hear there is a shopping/eating place just down the road called the green something or other. Pretty nice shopping place and it has a Cheesecake Factory. What can be wrong with that, eh?? Coming back from YS we stopped there for look-see as we used to live right near there in those apts right behind it. Looking at the place now makes me wonder.. did I REALLY live there.. it looks like a total DUMP, LOL.
Take care and call me anytime!!
