New Bike Trail in Idaho
I just got back from the almost completed Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes in North Idaho. Upon completion there will be 72 paved miles from Plummer to Mullan. My understanding is that the Plummer to Harrison portion will not be ready until late summer 2003. I rode from Harrison to Dudley and back ~50 miles and it was spectacular and free! Great scenery and no motorized vehicles.

Hey, I'm a spokane rider. That's a rail trail right? Is it chip seal and crushed gravel most of the way? Suitable for road riders or is a mtb better

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is smooth blacktop all the way. No MT bike needed.

OK. I know the Hiawatha Trail is crushed gravel... do they connecct yet? I know it's in the works.
The new trail is really doing a lot to help the economy in that area. Some folks in Plimmer oped a bike shop there just to service the need for rentals.
