My previous bike was a 30 yr. old Schwinn...now I am riding a 1999 Lemond Zurich...what a difference! I rode it for 16 miles a few days ago and all went well with the exception of my girl bits. I assume my seat needs to be adjusted or is this something I need to work through? I wasn't wearing padded shorts....are they necessary for every ride? Thanks for the welcome and I appreciate any advice/suggestions.
Hi Leslie, your 16 mile ride sounds like an accomplishment. Regarding your saddle you may need to adjust fore/aft and or adjust the nose up/down. Did you feel like you were sliding forward? I noticed on my new saddle I felt like I was seated somewhat more foreward, so I tilted the nose of the saddle up only 1 "click" (I feel the notches in the seat clamp make a 'click'), rode for a few days, adjusted up 1 "click" again & rode a few more days. Small changes are best until you can get it just right. Just a thought, however there are more saddle experienced folks on here who might suggest something else. Saddles are very personalized.
