Whoo Hoo!
The drain is out, the incision is 95% healed, the bruising is slowly transitioning from aubergine purple to olive green, and the doctor has declared me "good to go!"
I came home and celebrated with a Belgium Brewing Company Somersault beer (nice apricoty fruit taste with some not too bitter hops follow up) , and then had to promise both resident FIL and DH the SAG guy that "I will do this carefully, I will not be stupid and push it, and I will rest as needed."
Thank you one and all for your amazing support and encouragement.
I have read and reread every comment and they have all cheered and inspired me.
TE members rock far beyond the best.
