One of the ride leaders in my area has a real ink tattoo on his leg that at a glance, from a distance, looks pretty much like a chainring print. He gets a lot of double-takes. :D
we call those chainring tattoos and why wash them off? :D
Olive oil or lotion work for me.
I let it soak into the grease and rub it in to lift the grease from my skin, then wipe the greasy oil or lotion off. Repeat as needed.
Seems to work well on my pale thin dry skin.
Some people pay good money for the chainring tattoo. I think this is quite tasteful.Quote:

honestly, I found chain grease on my gym towel which goes from the gym bag to open air in the gym to the the gym bag to the washing machine to the gym bag this morning. Weird.
A soft nail brush or scrubbie sponge will help with the grease.
I kinda want that tattoo. If I was gonna get ink, well...
Wet-ones are good for cleaning grease. I keep a container in my bike bag all the time.
Also a little baby oil works.
It comes up like magic with baby oil.

I have been riding for 6 years, and I swear I *STILL* get one every time I ride. :rolleyes:
I just leave-em unless I remember to scrub it in the shower. I consider it an accessory to any outfit. :p
And yes, I've thought about getting a chainring tat like the one above- I might as well since I pretty much have one all the time in varying degrees of completion.
Maybe I'm not a klutz after all.

What kind of pants? Liquid detergent or dishwashing liquid and a bit of scrubbing usually gets it.
