I did it!
Last July, I was getting lots of advice from you all on what was to be my first full bike commute (I had been commuting half way by bike and half way by bus.) I was all set to go and excited.
The night before my first commute in, my husband dropped the bomb. He was divorcing me. He had already talked to a lawyer and there was nothing I could do about it. And I hadn't seen it coming, at all.
Nine months later, I'm fully divorced and finally getting my life back together. And today, I rode all 11 miles in to work. With my laptop. And mostly uphill. I'm pretty proud of myself. Now, to get home this afternoon...

Hit the ground running and don't look back!
You should be very proud of your biking commute. :)
-
Excellent!!! SO proud that you are back out there- and that you've started again. Pat yourself on your back ALL DAY today!!!:D
Welcome back!!
-
Well done!!!
Being on a bike is great therapy :)
-
Yay for you and welcome back, KC.
Getting home now is all downhill! :D
-
Good for you!!! So glad you're back at it...a bad day on the bike is ALWAYS better for the heart and soul than a good day in a motorized vehicle, and here's to all the GOOD days on the bike!
-
Way to go! And if it was mostly uphill on the way in, that means it's mostly downhill on the way home, right? ;)
-
Wow  and Wow! :D
Go for it!
-
Good for you! You are back, and stronger than before. Hope you have a fun ride home, with a tail wind. You deserve it.
-
Way to go!
I have a downhill ride home too; it's grand.
-
*hugs* Happy Birthday, hon. This is the beginning of a beautiful new life.
-
What everybody else said. Well done for coming through it all, and every happiness in your new biking life!
-
Awesome! Good job and best of luck to you on your new life. What a feeling of accomplishment you must have! I think the bike is the best anti-depressant there is:D
-
Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!
I made it home, mostly downhill, and was exhausted. But, on the way home I counted other bicyclists. 247! Amazing.
I only work in the office 3 days a week. So this week I biked one day. Next week 2 days and the third week I will bike in whenever possible. It is going to be a great summer.
