Conti 26" tires
For anyone who might have this issue.....I have been searching for tires for my road bike, which is a Rivendell with 26" wheels; it is a 50 cm and has the smaller wheels to avoid toe overlap. I have come to really like 25" tires because they help me to go faster! I had been using mtb slicks, but found recently that Continental makes them in the 26" wheel size, and they are really nice (and the brown sidewalls compliment my brown leather Brooks sadde).

Are you talking about 650c tires, or true 26" tires? I thought only mountain and commuting/street bikes used 26" tires, and that they were always fairly fat, compared to those on a road bike. I use 650c Contis on my Aegis Swift and have never gotten a flat in over a year of riding (crossing fingers and hoping I didn't just jinx myself! :D )

No, they're true 26s; the ISO (I think that is what it is) is 559, so the tires are 25-559. They always try to sell me 650s, but that is not what they are. Yeah, it is unusual on a road bike, but the size is Rivendell-Grant Peterson's idea of what works. The bike fits my short arm/leg Irish body so well that I have no complaints!
