Can anyone recommend a plus size base layer?
Hello, friends,
Weather-weenie me is ready for a real cycling base layer, but I can't find any in XXL. (And, yes, I've checked TE, and yes, Knot, I've checked all of your favorite wool people.)
I currently wear a long-sleeve cotton t-shirt from Target. It's comfortable, but DH this morning sort of shook his head and muttered something about wicking moisture and wind resistance and asked me if he bought me a base layer shirt, would i wear it? Well, sure, but from what I can tell, nobody makes one my size.
This morning I went out in my long knickers, the white t-shirt, my short-sleeve jersey, my teal TE arm warmers, and my winter PI gloves with the long fingers. I was warm enough, but I was a little damp with sweat by the end.
I'm blessed to be in San Diego where winters are really mild, but the wind off the ocean really is cold. As long as I stay in the sun, I'm good. I guess I'm just frustrated that they don't make base layers for plus-size people.
Do I need to buy a men's XL and roll up the sleeves? Should I just suck it up and be glad I'm not looking at 12 ft snowdrifts out my door?
Sigh. Sorry for whining.
