WTH is wrong with people? So very sad. :(
sorry to hear that. We've had a rash of this in my neck of the woods too. Too many guns... (Sigh)
Oh, how awful.
So sorry to hear about that. The department I used to work for lost a firefighter and an officer within a week's time a couple of months ago, and I keep seeing fatal OISs at least once a month if not more. It makes me sick to my stomach....
I am so sorry. WTH as someone else said. I just don't get it...Hearing about this just makes my blood boil. What gives them the right to do such a terrible thing.
I saw that on the news. I am so sorry.
So sorry- that's really awful.
I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to all who risk their lives for our safety.
I am so sorry to read about this, prayers indeed for them and their families - and for you on the loss of your friends.
Kermit, I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you everyone. The outpouring of support from this town has been amazing. The four children from the two fallen officers now have full college scholarships and extended families. The entire funeral at a downtown arena was televised and the support from the community restores my faith in people. There are so many GOOD people in this world...a devastating tragedy grew into some positive results. I actually had a man salute me at work today... usually people hate cops... Goodbye Roger and Amanda...
(Sorry if this is depressing, you guys are my sounding board and have helped me a lot...thank you)
I am so sorry Kermit! Please accept my deepest sympathy. The officers' families are in my thoughts and prayers
DS is a law enforcement officer as are many close friends. This is horrifying.
Kermit- I knew you were an officer in the area from your stories about your dog but I didn't connect.I am glad the funeral offered you some peace and the community is showing not everyone hates cops. There is some humanity in the world. I pray your force will continue to heal.
On an aside - Mimi we were visiting your fair town right after the first officer was murdered last year. We were walking to the space needle when the procession came by. We stopped to pray and then saw construction workers stop, remove their hard hats for the procession. It was tragic and beautiful to see respect when it felt like it had been lost. A profound memory I would rather not have.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
