What are your favorite brands and styles for yoga pants, both in terms of fit and durability?
I have to admit that I've tried very few yoga specific pants and instead just stick with Nike's Dri-Fit pant because I like how they fit me and they last forever. I have one pair in particular that I'm partial to and they have held up incredibly well. I've had them for at least 4 1/2 years and despite weekly wearings and washings (I air dry them) they practically look brand new minus a slight amount of fading.
Yoga pants are one of those things that I don't want to spend a lot of money on... I end up buying them at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I do like pants with a wide, flat waistband and a gussetted crotch- more comfy, IMO. As long as they have those features and they're affordable, I don't worry about brand.
AT $60 or so for the Nikes, they're not cheap really but like I said; they do last. I've gotten my money out of them for sure. The few yoga specific pants I've tried are not cut generously enough in the seat. I'm a bit of a pear, and I want my butt covered as much as possible in poses like down dog. Some of the women in class leave little to the imagination.
The reason I ask about brand and durability is that I like to wear them when I am tooling around the house and be able to run errands in them and not look like I just stepped out of the gym. I've been buying some champion ones from target for $20 bucks or so, but they look so faded and trashy after just a few washes that I don't wear them out of the house anymore.
I love the Marika ones at Target/TJ Maxx. They're fitted well at the waist for a curvy bottom.
But I don't have a dryer and they don't fade nearly as quickly drying on the rack in my kitchen.
Good point on the dryer. I'll have to start hanging them like I do my cycling clothes.
For what you describe re: around the house and running errands, I sometimes wear these from LLBean.
For actually working out, something from Prana or Lululemon.
Athleta Chaturanga pants. See below. They are on sale now. Athleta has lots of great styles and they come in petite/tall sizes.

I love the Sporthill brand of clothing. They are NOT cheap, but they last forever.
I don't mind not cheap at all as I want the lasts forever part, LOL!
I forgot about athleta...I ordered a pair of these pants.
I lived in the first style Old Navy had in college, looked better than plaid pajama pants a lot of people wore to class! They still look great and I graduated in 2003. I wish they still made them, I would go get more for my running errands pants.
TE has a whole section of Yoga/fitness apparel. the Pi(e) sale is still going on and the gift card offer :)
