Sunday rides & the things you learn

This afternoon I went on a very easy 20 mile ride, to enjoy the mid 50s temperatures. I love the morning and afternoon golden light in this latitude.. not the same near the Equator, really! Two things I've learned this fall:

• I find cold wind exhausting. Yesterday, I rode 46 miles in the morning, and even though it was not too windy nor cold (mid to upper 40s), I felt pummeled by the end and even this morning.
• When it's colder outside, before running or going out on the bike, I massage skin lotion into my legs (thinking it may warm up my muscles and protect my skin a little from the dry cold). Well, I learned yesterday that there are some magic potions and a name for that... 'embrocation'. I had seen the term in one thread here, but I did not have a clue of what it meant. I may have to try one of them, magic potions. :D
