What Cat Litter do you use?

Our cat litter is so dusty! We have been using the Arm and Hammer Multi Cat, and for some reason, it just seems exceptionally dusty lately.

I need a low dust one, so suggest away, thanks!

I lovelovelove feline pine. They're pine pellets, definitely no dust, though it turns to a slightly damp sawdust once peed on (the sawdust stuff doesn't go airborn, even if you have cats that are litter-flingers). The sawdust actually scoops pretty well in the scooper I had to get the clumps out of my old cat litter (it doesn't fall through the holes at all). And it just smells like pine needles when they use it.

It does take a little while to get kitty to adapt to this stuff from normal cat litter, I had to mix the two for a couple weeks to switch them.

I use the wood pellets, too. I've tried them all throughout the years, and I keep coming back to the pellets. Feline Pine's the best in terms of scent; the one I use now is meant for horse stalls so isn't pine but works the same. I believe there's one that works opposite, made of wood, very fluffy and clumps when wet.

we try get pelleted newspaper or wood products both seem to work well. get whatever is cheapest at moment. right now have a subscribe and save think on amazon.com set up for feline pine because no place near us sells it.

I mainly use Fresh Step clay and yes it does have dust. I also have on litter box with Yesterday's News. I'd use it in more litter boxes, but my cats will only pee in it, they won't poop in it. No idea why, so we use both litters.

We've tried several of the plant/tree-based litters, and my cats hate them all. So we're stuck with clay, which is still better than pee on the floor. Precious Cat Ultra, while expensive, seems to be less dusty than some of the others.

We use Tidy Cats Scoop for multiple cats. It's dusty and they track it all over the dang house...but they don't object to it, so we're sticking with it for now.

Feline Pine here, too. I love it because we scoop out the poo and the remaining 'sawdust' can go into our compost.

I use Swheat Scoop (its made from wheat hulls). I like it because it is clumping, but not dusty or goopy and my cats like it just fine - its not pellets and has a texture more like clay littler. They fling it around the litter box area, but they don't seem to track it around the house. It's really good at odor control.

Until the passing of our dearly loved kitties, we used a silica litter. Loved it! Very little dust, not as much tracking, no mud slicks from clay - worked great for us.

We used to use swheat scoop but they changed their formula recently and we found it extremely dusty after that. We now use the World's Best Cat Litter multicat formula, and it has earned its' name with our three cats:)

Arm & Hammer here, too. It has been dusty lately, now that you mention it. Where do you get Feline Pine?

We've been using Swheat Scoop, but are making a switch to cheap clay litter because one of our cats has decided that she "doesn't do" the nice expensive litter. That flushes. And doesn't stink. *grumble*

But like Becky says, it's better than pee on the floor!

Tortilla was not a fan of Yesterday's News, Feline Pine, Pine Pellets, Arm & Hammer or Fresh Step. We went through hell finding one she liked and kept peeing on the floor to let us know we weren't getting it right. She finally decided she likes Swheat Scoop, my little Schnauzer likes to get in the box so I am not sure who is getting it all over the floor.

I don't think it is too dusty and good at odor control. I also like that they have a program after so many boxes you can send in for a coupon for a free one. I think it is a little more expensive but Tortilla is happy and we aren't cleaning pee anymore which makes us happy!

We use Swheat Scoop.

Cats will not get silicosis from it. Clay litter might cause silicosis.
Cats can ingest and it will pass through their system safely.
It can go down the drain and will eventually decay and not clog the pipe (in reasonable quantity) Clay litter will eventually clog the pipe.
It weighs a lot less than clay

Pine pellets are similar but instead of clumping in Swheat Scoop, Pine pellets will turn into powder.

I guess Shweat Scoop is eco-friendly. We really haven't noticed the dust problem. They do offer regular and multi-cat formula. They are slightly different.

We recommend using Swheat Scoop to the adoptive family of a very young kittens.
