How amazing is this?
Wow- I want to live there!!! :) What a dreamy city! I like the guy about 30 seconds in riding a bike and holding a 2nd bike beside him.
Now THIS is the kind of busy, crowded commute that would appeal to me!!
Look in the background and see just HOW MANY bikes there are. Crazy cool!
Notice nobody is wearing helmets? Interesting.
Insane rush hour in the Netherlands

What a great video! It's fascinating to see how well organized, patient and polite the bike commuters are there. I just got back from a ride this afternoon where I was almost hit by someone running a red light. If drivers here had the same attitude as those cyclists, perhaps there would be more people out cycling on the roads here! Thanks for sharing!

I'd move there in a minute. I'd still probably wear my helmet, though.
Anyone in the Netherlands need an English-speaking Speech-Language Pathologist? I love kids with autism and I'm also qualified to teach ESL, help with accent modification and patch tires.
Brewer's a decent wrench, a great cook and has a bunch of other grown-up professional skills.

Love this!
I work with a Company in the Netherlands and they are the nicest, friendly people to deal with compared to other companies I deal with. Now I know why - bike riding just makes people happy :)

This includes a videoclip of parents cycling with children in the Netherlands. Another beehive of commuter busyness.

It's so foreign to many of us now in North America to see so many children cycling to school.
That type of bike commuter traffic near jam is like that in Copenhagen also.

And they don't stop in winter - someone posted this photo during this week's insane winter weather in the Netherlands:

"which bike was mine again?"

I remember when I was visiting Amsterdam all the bikers were very quiet and knew what was going on, but being the tourist I was just walking around aimlessly. There was no yelling or anything, just a whole bunch of bell ringing. They definitely have their bike commutes down to a science.
This is an awesome video.
I'm waiting for that perfect DC Spring and Fall time to ride my bike. I just cant do it in the nasty humidity or cold wind. Im too much of a baby.

Super cool, thanks for sharing!:D

Thatīs a cool video but have to say that when I visited Amsterdam I found the bikers to be very aggressive and not that polite.
My favorite cycling town I have visited was Basel in Switzerland, lotīs a cyclists and a wonderful cycling culture there, very polite, patient and accommodating to pedestrians as well.
