Nice, Crankin--thank you. Same to you all.
Aleychem sholem and happy 5771.
Today at services, the rabbi was describing the different animals that shofars can be made of. He said that the main shofar they were using this year is from an ibex. Of course right away in my head, I went "yes," and immediately thought of the wool weenies thread. Well, at least it made me pay attention.
Very funny. Maybe it would be better than calling a driver a swear word.
I just got back from Taschlik... the service where you throw bread crumbs into running water to symbolically cast away your sins. It's at a pond about 3 miles from my house, so I rode there. Well, I must say my bike (and my attire) made quite a scene. The rabbi picked it up to see how much it weighed. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes, so afterwards I was talking to someone and she said, "well, now we can leave and feel good about the new year." To which I replied, "Yea, let's see how long it takes for me to call someone an azzhole on my ride home!":).
New list of sins have already commenced.
The moving truck arrived today to pick up my household belongings, so we're definitely on new beginnings.
Happy New Year from a Gentile. :D:cool:
Hey--In Utah, Jews are Gentiles too!
Cheers!
And a Happy New Year to you all!
Here's hoping for a healthy happy year for everyone!
