Sweat has been rolling off me nonstop for the past week. Including when I'm sitting on the couch. I've got beach towels on all my furniture and it's not enough.
I LIKE to sweat. When I'm DOING something. Not when I'm just sitting on my @ss.

Ugh! We went to Red River, NM for vacation hoping to escape the heat but they were having a heat wave and no where has AC. At least in Texas we can hide with the AC going full blast.
Oakleaf, I hear ya. Well, not at the moment since it's nowhere near summer down here but..It shall be here very soon...
When we returned home from the Otway in Feb, our reverse cycle air con went on the fritz..:( and it was just towards the end of a week of 40C+ temps.. The only relief til it was fixed was from our bathroom tiles..
I'd like summer to return but i'm ok with the temps at the mo :)
It's sticky and in the 90s. I have no AC. Even the kitchen tiles are all warmish and gross. My poor fan has been working overtime the last couple days.
No AC??? Oh you poor thing!!!
We are doing a sprint triathlon today and it's supposed to be 100 degrees....I may have to walk the run or do the swim twice to cool off;)
We didn't have AC when I was a girl - but the 1960's were a different time. I still remember what those southern summers were like without it - one summer in particular
Bike Chick - I am impressed that you are heading out in such temps.
I WAS going for my weekly long ride yesterday - bumping it to 51 miles this week - but couldn't get out until 2:30 yesterday afternoon. 93 degrees, heat index >100 and a hot wind that felt straight out of an oven.
Made it to my starting point...was ready to step on the bike...and wimped...errrrr....got wise and put the ride off until this morning. I am stubborn, but it wasn't the weather to do my long ride in. Trying to raise my mileage base, NOT a trip to the ER for heat stroke! I do want to increase my heat tolerance but it seems wiser to do this by getting out before it is the hottest part of the day and ride while the temps rise.
Hope to get started between 7-7:30 this morning. It is already 79 degrees and the sun hasn't even come up yet!
Ironic that watching TdF in the mornings occupies the only time of day when I could possibly ride.
Morning rides will be back on the schedule now, and we usually get a little whiff of fall by the middle of August. It's like an oven out there now. Yah, I know it's a dry heat, but so is the surface of the sun.
I've finally gotten fed up. To some extent, I enjoy riding in temp extremes. It's a challenge and I have fun in heat as long as I can go at my own pace, rest, take photos, and eat ice cream. But day after day after day gets old.
And I don't like having to use AC (though I am grateful I have it). And subway platforms are horribly hot.
How hot is it? It's so hot that there are two (2) threads going on the heat!

The other one is in the Mid-Atlantic region.
I consider Ohio part of the Mid-Atlantic, but the last time I asked, they refused to claim us and said we belonged in North Central, which is really for states like Illinois and South Dakota. ;)
There should be a Mid-West region.... but I guess there can only be so many.
You won't find me complaining about the heat. I still remember too vividly this past winter.
I want to fall into that snow.
You are a sadist.
