I've been interested in the imperial since I first heard of it, but it only came in the B17 shape, which I can sit on, but it's not as comfortable as the B67-B68 shape.
I found this guy on ebay selling the B68 with the Imperial cutout, and he had a 7 day guarantee (good for ebay) so I went for it.
Ah, what a sweet saddle. it's been laced as well. Photos coming.

Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for those pictures! But then I want to put my selle-anatomic-ized B68 next to yours to see how they compare.
DH doesn't seem to find the lacing all that important on his B17 Imperial, but I lace the B68 tight or the sides flare out. I'll be curious as to your experience with the real deal B68 Imperial.
One of my B67's is starting to flare. It doesn't bother me when i ride (for whatever reason!) but it looks odd. I consider lacing it; as my new saddle came with 3 spare laces (in 3 different colors!)
I'll post a photo shortly. I have it smeared all over with prufhide at the moment..
here's a photo of my new saddle - It's really really comfortable, especially compared to the saddle that came with the bike!!
I'm intrigued, but I think my sit bones stick out far enough that I have no contact with the saddle where the cut out is anyway.

Those edges look pretty abrupt, of course they have to be since it is a leather saddle. Does that cause any pinching issues?Quote:

no pinching issues. remember the saddle itself is pretty stiff. there's no way anything could get pinched it really just gives you a tiny bit more space there.
I guess if you weren't wearing anything from the waist down it might pinch, but being surrounded by tight clothing & or chamois, there's no way this can pinch.

I have a motorcycle saddle that has rather square corners and it definitely cuts into me (in this case, in the upper rear of my thighs, but it's the concept, not the particular location, I'm going for). Really hard and painfully after more than a couple of hours - gotta replace that thing.
Between me and the saddle, I wear compression shorts under motorcycling pants.
no numbness. Like my other brooks, it disappears beneath me but when there are bumps it is less punishing and it is still not broken in yet (no sit bone dents yet)
i got a b68 imperial from http://www.wallbike.com/ and am trying it out. the cutout test on a hard surface always indicates i need one but i'm not sure if i do need one with a brooks.
