I use Rock & Roll Dry Lube on my bikes - they have one version for both road and mountain bikes so I use that. How often should it be used? I like it much better than the Pro Lube I was using, but am unsure how often. I know it is a very different kind of lube... I do wipe off the chain every time I come in from a ride.
I'll be watching this post. I tried a dry lube for the first time the last time I cleaned my cross bike, and I don't think I liked it - I had a lot of "clicking" and "grinding" when I rode. I did wait to let it dry, too, and put on a second coat as per the instructions. After a couple miles, I got off and added some prolube for fear I would break something.
Again, maybe I did something wrong, or was supposed to do something else......
I haven't noticed any odd sounds like this, but then again my chain made sounds when it had Pro Lube on it. I am just trying to avoid the mess I had with the other lube when I lubed it too frequently. I seem to be able to avoid that with the Rock & Roll.Quote:

It's based on graphite as being a lube that can handle incredible high amounts of pressure before the oilfilm will break and metal to metal contact occur (wich is wat chainwear causes).
It's a dry lube that doesn't attrackt dirt or at least minimal. It's best in dry conditions and not in the wet.
Put a drop on each link, rotate the crank a few times and let it dry for some hours. Than put a paper or cloth under your chain and rotate again as the particles will fall on the floor and you do not want to let this happen on your carpet as it's graphite ...
I love the stuff over anything else, but than again who know's what tomorrow will bring for new products ...
