These are supposed to smooth out the pedal stroke, improve power output, and help bad knees. I would be curious to hear some input on them!

I like them. I have a compact set on my road bike, and the aero set on my TT bike, and will likely put a set on my cyclocross bike this fall, so I guess I really like them. The price went up a year or so ago, but they are fairly reasonable compare to other chainrings (DA, RED). You can also find used sets on ebay.
Love mine. I have them on my Corsa, my GS Trike, but not on my Giro. I can ride all three without noticing a difference - unless I pay attention, then I really like the Q rings. When I first got them, and they were only on the Corsa, I really noticed an improvement in my knees, the smoother spin and a slight increase in Avg speed on my commutes to work (14 to 14.25 mph).
But, a few years down the road and I don't notice the difference between the Corsa with and the Giro without them anymore. Not sure why not, 'cept I commute on the Giro and ride the Corsa on road rides (faster), so maybe it's the different purpose for the 2 bikes.

Glad you mentioned the Corsa, as I am thinking of installing them on my Aero....hmm, might be a nice thing to ask for my birthday!!

I didn't get the Q Rings, I went with the full-blown Rotor cranks after I had my knee scoped.
I like 'em. I feel my power, as wimpy as it is, is evened out and my knee doesn't complain. My knee surgeon approved, too. As for speed, um, I'm not much of a speed demon without gravity assist, so I really can't help on that. I also got very low gearing, as I'm kind of heavy, and have loaded touring plans. No race gearing for this old girl.
I also went with 165 cranks, just to keep the knees happy. I don't regret that, either.
The bike is a Sun EZ Sport, which suits me down to the ground.
Been so long, not sure I remember. I have 155 mm crank arms, and the big ring is ~55, bigger than the stock. I never noticed any additional effort from the "larger" Q-rings, which makes sense since they are not larger in the "dead" area. The PR on the Rotor site says to go up some, or used to anyway.Quote:
