Funny NUUN story......

Thanks to the girls here, I've switched from Cytomax to Nuun on my shorter rides. (I gave up sugar over the winter and I'm always watching my weight). I attempted to share it with my DH, but I got that "trying to feed brussel sprouts to a kid face" with a BAH!

A couple weeks later, as we headed out for an organized ride (he was doing the metric), he asked where the "fizzy tablets" were-"I can't find them."

At the start, as he rode off with his buddy, I overheard:

Friend: "Hey, they've got these tablets like alka seltzer, that make your water fizzy."

DH: "Yeah, it's called Nuun. I've got it in one bottle."

Come to think of it, right before that, his buddy rode up to the car and announced: "I left in a hurry. I forgot my sunblock."

As I reached into the car and handed it over, he smiled and said, "I knew you'd have some."

They make fun of me for taking so long to "pack" before a ride. And refuse to acknowledge they are with me because I have a handlebar bag! But who has everything they need................I wonder what they do when I'm not around to be the pack mule :D

:rolleyes: Wait until you travel with a man, and have to share your toothpaste, your shampoo, your body wash, your lip moisturizer, your sunblock, your decongestant, your pain reliever, your antihistamine.... You learn pretty quick to bring enough for two. And then they make even more fun of you for the amount of stuff you're packing.

They'll pack a toilet kit, but there'll be nothing in it.

That is exactly how I feel. No one else wants to carry all the crap (band aids, advil, extra tissue, sunscreen, even a little air horn for dog deterrent!), but they sure are glad I have them when they need them!

Oh, yeah. Zip ties. Antiseptic (two bottles of cytomax will NOT rinse out a wound). Leatherman--used on the very first day in the pack (he said I didn't need it--I had a bicycle multitool). A route MAP. And he can't get it all back in there--just hands it back to me and walks off.

On the drive out: "got some ibuprofen?"

I'm celiac, so I made gluten-free banana-nut muffins for my pre/rest stop/post snacks. Two guys at the first stop were eyeing my muffin. I had to take off before they started rifling through my handlebar bag!

Trek, LOL! I've noticed that the longer a woman is married the larger her handbag is. I'm pretty sure it's to hold some of his things though he'll deny it. ;)

when I first got married I was a pack mule for dh. then the kids came and I became a pack mule for my children. Since my kids have left home I have consistently downsized my purse. I now carry a wallet and ride with only an underseat tool bag and what I can carry in three jersey pockets. My husband now knows better than to ask me to carry anything for him or ask me to pack his gear bucket for charity rides or tours. It probably helps that we ride at different speeds but there is no reason in the world why anyone should be responsible for any one else's needs or whims, much less his buds or pack.

Speak up and point out if it bitthering you- communciation is the best solution for a successful marriage.

I've taken to filling my husband's bag for him. Everything from the spare tube to the mini-tool, which was only just recently when I realized he never had one. I think he's just been hoping I'll be around should anything go awry.

I just bought a small backpack for long rides. For discarded clothes on rides where the temp rises...and sunblock. And whatever other crap DH needs me to carry. :p

Maybe the Queen is carrying enough stuff for all of Britain in her bag!
