Networking to raise awareness for a bicycle group

If you are trying to raise awareness for a bicycle advocacy group or trying to raise funds for non-profit bicycle events, don't forget to include your local politicians and state agency people in your efforts.

I happened to send a thank you note to the director of our state bus system with a photo of a bus driver who is particularly kind to cyclists and I also sent it to the Governor. The Governor sent it to his followers and a reporter called a very surprised bus system director within a few hours.

I knew the Governor was a cyclist but what a surprise to discover that the Bus Director is ALSO a cyclist. Amazing.
