They never get any. I talk about how good they are and really make them wish they could have a cookie.

Of course, my salary in my new career is going to be really, really small, compared to what I made my last year of teaching. But I don't care. People don't go into human service professions to get rich...

Well, I just spent about an hour watching Taylor Mali videos. Really entertaining stuff. I especially like his poems about his first wife's depression and eventual suicide. Powerful stuff.

I make kids do/say/hear/observe/try things they never thought they could or would.
I make them either have a love for the library or a hatred for it (hopefully the former).

I don't make them cookies. I would eat them all on the commute to work (by bike, no less- I can eat cookies and ride at the same time if need be). :p
