shadon, even advanced folk need rest day rides. Especially advanced folk. So when/where are you riding?
Check out Velo girls "melo velo" ride on Saturdays, easy pace, nice group of gals, La Canada road, can't get better than that. I don't have a free Saturday till 09/09 but maybe see you there then.
Also posted somewhere here is the lunachix training series for BATO and the first few rides are short but have some hills.
Shadon, I'd love to ride with you sometime. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do about 30 - 35 relatively flat miles near my house, but we'll see how it goes. I may poop out at 20. You're welcome to join me if you like. I'll be taking it quite slow since I haven't done that distance for a while.
Next weekend a bunch of us are doing Monterey (which AG swears is flat!), and I'm probably not going to be up for the full ride, so maybe we could do a shorter, modified version. A lot of the ride is bike path.
It's funny... I just logged on to see if anyone wanted to ride with me tomorrow!! :)
shadon, join us if you can!Quote:

Yes! Yes! Please come!
If you're free on Sunday - consider this EASY FLAT ride with the LUNAChix:
Sunday 8/21 9:30am: We'll start in downtown Berkeley at the BART station, then head to the beautiful Bay Trail via Shattuck, Channing, 4th Street, Addison, and the Pedestrain Bridge. Then we'll take the Bay Trail to Richmond and Return the same way.
Hope to see you there! I'll be recovering from Holstein.....
I'll send you my number if you need to call in the morning or have questions......
Any other takers?
P.S. - it's about 15 miles........
shadon,
You probably saw this one on the ALC list but Saturday October 1st this looks like a great late season century. They have rides as short as 10 miles on up to a metric. I've heard the route may be similar to the Cinderella, if so it's not hilly. It's 20.00, sucha deal as centuries go and best of all it's a benefit for a school's music program, a cause near and dear to me.
Weather tends to be iffy around that point but...check it out.

This sounds fun and in my budget. And being a musician myself, it's for a good cause, in my book!! :) Maybe Blaine and I could do this one together!!
