computer worm

my fiancee is in IT and is going to be putting in a LONG day at work cause the ENTIRE company has been infected with this new worm that is affecting Windows 2000...just wanted to put out a "heads-up" to all you computer users!!!! i am a mac user so i am out of the loop but it always pays to be aware!!!! ;)

be sure to backup ALL you files and run a virus update as well as a patch for this newest virus...and most important do NOT open any unknown attachments in your e-mails :eek:

emphasizing "windows 2000" - seems like a lot of folks have upgraded to XP........

No matter what release of Windows you are running - make sure that your virus software is up-to-date (always!) and also make sure that you apply all Windows fixes. I recommend setting your computer up to download and install these fixes automatically.

Our company was hit pretty hard with it yesterday. It basically just made everyone's computer shut down repeatedly, the entire afternoon. Our computers were pretty much worthless. It was a bit of a nice worm though beacuse it gave you 1 minute to save all your information
