Hi, I'm new to the forum and was hoping that it could be a way for me to meet other women cyclist in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Is there a way to do this through the forum?
Thank you,
PT

Hey! There's a "Places to Ride" section on the forum. Find your area's (mid-Atlantic?) forum, and you can post there to see if who's in your area. :)
I know there's some in the philadelphia area - you might want to post in the mid-atlantic section.
welcome!
Philly is 300 miles from Pittsburgh ;)
Can't recall seeing too many Pittsburghers around here, though there a few of us who grew up there... At any time there are lots of lurkers. This post itself might bring them out, but you can go over to the places to ride section too.
I (and I think many others) tend to ignore the category posts belong to and just browse by new posts myself, so I see most everything no matter where it was placed.
I'm originally from Pittsburgh, and I have to say this board is very very light on folks from the 'burgh.
I know some guys back home that ride, but not many women. I do come home and ride in Pedal Pittsburgh (and you would be more than welcome to ride with my crowd then!). I'll keep thinking about ideas for you. The city does have quite a burgeoning cycling community. I know it has been on some lists of best cities to cycle in. Hills be damned I guess. ;)
I do think there is some split as to where Pittsburgh falls in the sections devoted on this board to locale. So I'd look in mid-atlantic, but also in northeast. I have a couple Pittsburgh related posts out there, and can't remember now which board they are in - possibly both. I'm indecisive like that. :)
Reminds me of the time a friend here in MD, who is a huge Redskin fan, was talking all "us us us" about the Ravens winning the Super Bowl and I pointed out that he was a skins fan and he said - state pride and all, like you wouldn't be psyched if the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
I told him "You sir, no nothing about the state of Pennsylvania!"
:) (born and raised in the South Hills, and damn proud of it!)
Hello! I'm from the Pgh area (North Hills) and ride about 5 days per week, when I am in town. Pedal Pittsburgh is huge! You should def go!
